In SRINAGAR, the Home Department has officially announced 4022 constable vacancies within Jammu and Kashmir Police to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
Specially,these Constable positions were last advertised in 2019, and the current announcement aims to protect the constabulary in the necessary UT Police force, enhancing law enforcement power to address security challenges effectively.
This aim not only strengthens Jammu & Kashmir's overall security infrastructure but also creates employment opportunities for local youth.
The official statement highlights the tautness on J&K Police due to a manpower shortage at the Constable level, impacting operational readiness and delivery mechanisms.
The detailed breakdown of the post positions is as follows:
Constable J&K Armed/ IRP UT Cadre: The recruitment drive includes 1689 posts for this pivotal role,strengthening of the Armed/IRP forces in the Union Territory.
Constable SDRF (UT Cadre): The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) allotment of 100 posts, contributing to disaster management and comeback Power within the UT.
Constable Telecommunication UT Cadre: A significant number of 502 posts have been advertised for constable.
Constable (Driver) Telecommunication (UT Cadre): There are 20 posts for constables with a focus on driving within the telecommunication cadre.
Constable Photographer (UT Cadre): The police force recognizes the importance of visual documentation and has 22 posts alloted.
Constable Executive Police (Divisional Cadre Jammu): In Jammu division, 1249 posts has been allotted for constables in the Executive Police cadre.
Constable Executive Police (Divisional Cadre Kashmir): The Kashmir division has been allotted 440 constables only .
